Mobile Workforce Management Solution (MWFMS): Optional Modules

The optional modules of the CGI MWFMS system extend functionality in order to further improve day-to-day productivity, management and monitoring of daily field resource operations.

Complex Order Management

The CGI Complex Order Management module facilitates the grouping and sequencing of individual work orders into comprehensive planned work that will assist in addressing the needs of emergency operations, or intervention requiring multiple types of operations while ensuring that the optimum sequence is respected.  It also provides the flexibility of attaching particular conditions to tasks that must be fulfilled before work orders can be executed.

Workload Optimizer

Event-based Reallocation for Optimized Work Execution

The CGI Workload Optimizer module levels daily and future workload distribution among available crews for a specific business unit.  It can re-analyze all work assignments and redistribute the workload, taking into account the daily progress of work at given times of the day.  Future workload leveling reschedules future assignments closer to the present, when current workload is low.

Advanced Scheduling

Analytical Performance Engine for Short- and Long-term Work and Resource Planning

The CGI Advanced Scheduling and Appointment Taking module enables the user to associate future jobs with crews, providing that the crews are available for the period of time during which the work must be performed.  Configurable weight factors (importance levels) are applied to the recommendation criteria (work zones, workload, skill set, proximity) when assigning a crew match for a future work order.  A graphical representation can also be created to analyze complex work orders and further evaluate the constraints between a series of assignments based on specific task sequences.

Travel Time Engine

The Travel Time Engine (ETT) provides for the ability to dynamically calculate field crew travel time between jobs.  This module enhances the overall accuracy of the work planning by reducing travel times and sequences orders accordingly.  Fully configurable, this module also considers weather, traffic, construction etc. in the travel time equation.

Software Distribution Manager

The CGI Software Distribution Management is an application that automatically distributes software updates to mobiles.  You can use SDM to update any software on one or many mobiles (PCAD, PLine, SAP, etc…) thus eliminating the need to update each mobile manually.  The basic feature of the SDM module is that it has been designed to operate effectively in narrow bandwidth environments.  This way, there is no need to recall workers from the field to perform software updates.

Common Cause

The CGI Common Cause module facilitates the dispatching process in PragmaCAD and is a very useful way to manage incoming work regarding the same job, thus reducing the dispatcher’s workload.  When PragmaCAD detects jobs with a possible common cause, a notification is sent to the dispatcher.  The dispatcher then creates a common cause record and creates a single work record to be sent to the field.  Once this is done, the related common cause jobs are removed from the job list.  The main common cause job is the parent, and the related jobs are the children.
